Her gig at LowLands is one of Murphy's final European festival appearances. Next month, she will taking off from music for a few weeks. "(. . .) September is fashion month all over the world," she said recently in an interview. "I am going to go and do some fashion things, stop thinking about music for a while, start thinking about dresses and hats again."

Expect more from Murphy in October when her song "Movie Star" will be featured in a global Gucci fragrance commercial in conjunction with the release of a live DVD and a promotional blitz all over the world.

Dusty Kid [aka Paolo Alberto Lodde] was born in the first half of the decade of the 80's. As a new "enfant prodige" he immediately showed his natural attitude for the variegated "music world". At 10, after just one year of private lessons of the basic notions of piano and violin, he was admitted directly to the 6° year of the piano course in the conservatory of his native city. Following the accademic experience, his tasks moved gradually from the austere classical world to the electronic system, free from binds and traditional old-fashioned diktats.



dusty kid started to manipulate synthesizers, samplers and sequencers, and he realized that one passion was growing and growing: the ardor for arranging and producing his own compositions. He released his first single "I Found A Reason" at 19 on the English label Lowered Recordings, and then he produced various singles and remixes for Mutiny UK, Robbie Rivera and Trinity Hi-Fi. The first official single under the aegis of the pseudonym dusty kid was "The Summer of Love". But it's during 2004 that dusty Kid creates the project Duoteque with DJ Andrea Ferlin and releases numerous EPs on boxer recordings and the tracks were immediately included in the DJ sets of some of the most important names, like Richie Hawtin, Tiefschwarz, Ricardo Villalobos, Dominik Eulberg, Sven Väth and Magda. After the Duoteque experience Paolo decides to take his own way and to release his own productions as dusty kid. First release was the NEW ORDINAMENT EP on Motivo, followed by a second EP in 2007.
2007 is also the year of various releases as Dusty Kid on labels such as Kling Klong "Signal '63 EP", Systematic "Tsunamy"/"Milk", Boxer Recordings "Anatome EP Vol.1" and Southern Fried Records "The Cat" / "The Kitten", all hugely supported by DJS all over the world and still doing damage on the dancefloors and in the charts, as well as getting amazing reviews from press.

First there was 'Brainfreeze' then came 'Product Placement' now Cut Chemsit and DJ Shadow come together on 'The Hard Sell' which was recorded live during the rehearsals for their gigs at The Hollywood Bowl in mid-2007.



Fans attending can apparently expect "music from all eras and styles, providing for amusing and provocative mash-ups; rap mixes with fiddle music, doo-wop with new wave, and everything in between...all while avoiding the obvious". Speaking of The Hard Sell, DJ Shadow says "we want to play something to make everyone smile...and then send them running for the exits!"



The live-mixing effort, which becomes the third touring enterprise that the duo have produced since 1999 (previous tours produced a pair of live discs 1999's "Brainfreeze" and last year's "Product Placement"), utilizes eight turntables, four mixers and two effects pedals, according to a short promotional video streaming at the MySpace site.



Cut Chemist who previously worked with Los Angeles Latin funk act Ozomatli (appearing on the group's first two albums) and rappers Jurassic 5, released his first full-length solo album, "The Audience's Listening," in July of last year.
DJ Shadow released his third full-length effort, "The Outside," last fall. The artist whose real name is Josh Davis released the groundbreaking "Entroducing ..." in 1996, a record that made the Guinness Book of World Records in 2001 under the entry "First Completely Sampled Album.

The pair – who last year re-released their second album So This Is Goodbye with a bonus remix disc (get it!) – are producers first, DJs distant second. Well, if it worked for Hot Chip’s DJ Kicks … Junior Boys’ mix includes one unreleased off-cut from So This Is Goodbye, titled No Kinda Man, but otherwise it’s an eclectic affair charting deep house, techno, pop and ambient.
